Abstract

This research is based on the author's initial observations, which yielded data on the increasing number of locations, such as restaurants, hotels, bars, and nightclubs, that are increasingly selling alcoholic beverages for on-site consumption or takeaway. This activity can lead to problems such as increased crime triggered by alcohol consumption due to unconsciousness. Questions arise regarding whether the Banyumas Regency Government supervises the distribution of alcoholic beverages or allows them to be freely sold to all ages. Long-term alcohol consumption can have negative health impacts, causing problems such as forgetfulness, red eyes, liver damage, heart damage, brain damage, and an increased risk of depression. The purpose of this study is to explore the role of the Banyumas Regency Government in supervising the distribution of alcoholic beverages. This research was conducted using empirical legal methods and a structural approach. The data used are primary data supported by secondary data. Based on the analysis that has been done, it is concluded that the supervision by the Banyumas Regency Government on the distribution of alcoholic beverages is in accordance with the regulations, but is still not optimal due to many challenges such as the lack of even public education and obstacles in Banyumas Regency, where there are still places selling alcoholic beverages that are not in accordance with the regulations, the accumulation of alcoholic beverages, and hidden sales practices. The findings of this study are expected to be input for the Banyumas Regency Government to strengthen cooperation between agencies, create effective coordination, and encourage active community participation by utilizing media technology for public reports that are followed up on an ongoing basis, in order to create order, tranquility, and public security and to increase socialization and education regarding the dangers of consuming alcoholic beverages periodically and comprehensively in Banyumas Regency.
